Welcome! I’m a passionate and experienced violinist and violin teacher based in Loughborough, with over 20 years of experience in music education, performance, and orchestral coaching. I hold a BMUS (Hons) in Violin Performance from Birmingham Conservatoire, where I performed with the Conservatoire’s Sinfonia and Symphony Orchestras and was a finalist in the Sylvia Cleaver chamber music competition.
Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to both performing and teaching across the UK. From 1999 to 2008, I worked with Arts in Education – Leicester as a violin teacher and conductor, leading youth orchestras, directing Senior Strings at the Hinckley Area Music Centre, and organising concerts at major venues like De Montfort Hall. I also ran annual residential orchestra trips and delivered Wider Opportunities projects, all with certified training in child protection and first aid to support student wellbeing.
As a professional violinist, I’ve toured with The Phantom of the Opera under The Really Useful Company, with rehearsals at London’s iconic Old Vic Theatre. My freelance career includes orchestral and chamber music performances, as well as private violin lessons tailored to students of all ages and levels in and around Loughborough.
My musical roots are in Wales, where I performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and led the North Powys Youth Orchestra on tour in Germany. I also performed at the Mid Wales Opera Festival and taught at the Mid Wales Music Centre during my school years.
When I’m not teaching or performing, I enjoy food photography, cooking, theatre, travel, and keeping up with the latest in music and technology. Whether you're looking for beginner violin lessons in Loughborough or advanced tuition to take your playing to the next level, I bring warmth, experience, and a deep love for music to every lesson.
